It can be difficult to accept how much luck plays into our lives. We’re all born into certain circumstances, with genes handed down from our parents, and things happen around us out of our control. Sometimes, bad things just happen.

But it’s also true that the harder you work, the luckier you get. I’m telling you that not just because I’ve heard it before, but also from experience. The more you learn, take care of your health, and gain new experiences, the more you open yourself up to lucky things happening. And you’ll be more ready to seize those opportunities as they arise.

That’s something to keep in mind as you get to the end of the school year and into the summer. Make the most not only of your last couple of months in class, but also the freedom of the summer months to explore new opportunities.
