Bring Hope to a New Year…
The year of 2020 may go down in history as one of the most challenging years the world has ever experienced. Every single person in the world has been touch by the Covid19 pandemic; whether bad or good, it has changed us. It has changed the way we live and interact with each other. In the context of JobsPeopleDo, it has changed the world of work and how we learn. Many of you are at home right now as you read this, questioning or fearing your post-secondary future. One thing to remember is that YOU ARE NOT ALONE in thinking these things. You are strong and you will adapt to any change because you have already been through so much. It is a strange thing to be young during this point in history because there is so much happening so fast! You may fail and hit the ground a few times trying to navigate yourself through this storm, but there will be a clearing; hold on to that and bring hope with you as you race towards the new year.
This is my last issue as JPD Content Editor. For 5 years I have worked with students and writers of all kinds from all over the country- it has truly been an honour. I hope that all of you follow your dreams and desires when it comes to your career and life. There will be a new and exciting Content Editor starting in January that I am sure you will love!
My one piece of advice to you all: Don’t be afraid to get your hands dirty when it comes to work and earning a living. One of the keys to survival and independence in this world is the ability to adapt to new changes in stressful situations. This pandemic has often taught people to open up a bit more when it comes to thinking about their job-because you never know when it can disappear. Be brave out there and don’t be afraid to take risks or do jobs that you think are lower on your wish list. Train yourself to be resilient and you will reap the benefits.
Goodbye and Good Luck!
