A Whole New Year to Learn and Grow

Now that we’ve made it through the first few weeks of the school year, how are you feeling? Whether you’re in elementary school, stepping into high school for the first time, or navigating your first year of college or university, October is when things really start to settle in, and sometimes, that’s when the challenges start to show up too.
If you’re feeling a bit overwhelmed or still adjusting to your routine, you’re not alone. It’s okay if things haven’t gone perfectly so far. This is a fresh start, not a finish line. And if you’re still figuring out how to manage homework, make new friends, or keep up with your goals, this month’s articles are here to help.
This is JobsPeopleDo’s first issue of the 2025–2026 school year, and we’re excited to be back! We’re starting strong with career profiles on roles like botanist, astronomer, auto body repairer, and hazardous materials removal worker, plus advice on goal setting, saving money, and choosing good references for job applications. You’ll also find insight into making friends in a new class, coping with a tough school start, and building habits that actually stick.
Don’t forget to check out the October 2025 scholarships, including those specifically for Indigenous students. If you’re in your final year of high school or post-secondary, these opportunities can make a big difference.
And for even more unique insights, check out our interviews with industry pros, where professionals share what their jobs are really like.
You’ve got a whole year ahead to grow, and we’ll be here every step of the way.
Warm regards,
