Soak in Some Sunlight

Jobs People Do | JobsPeopleDo.com

As frustrating as the cold can be, the worst part of winter for many (myself included) is the lack of sunlight. Once the sun sets, the day is over, just like that — even with so many hours left. But it can be hard for our brains to register that fact, so instead we’re left with these truncated days. Even though they’re just as long as the days of summer, it sure doesn’t feel that way, which is why Daylight Savings Time is such a game changer for all of us, for better or for worse.

This weekend, we suddenly get an extra hour. Sunset has been creeping later into the evening since December, but the jump with Daylight Savings is quite the jolt for the brain. Just like that, the days are longer, and I find it always makes me more productive.

As the weather warms, and students head into March Break, take time to soak up the sun and enjoy the daylight. A day is always 24 hours, but our brains are easily tricked, so take advantage of being tricked into feeling the day suddenly became longer and make the most of it. That also means more time to check out the articles in our latest issue below! And be sure to also check out our video interviews with Canadian professionals.
